Over the past month or so I’ve come to realise that I have accumulated a few items that I would not want to live without (sounds dramatic but it’s true). Some are beauty-related and some are just random things that I’ve been loving as of late that I’d like to share with the world – or even just with you, my lovely reader.
I have to say, I’m not much of a liquid lip kind of girl. I’ve mostly found them to be uncomfortable and although long-wearing, they mostly just irritate me and I’d rather wear a tinted lip balm most of the time. But I decided to place a ColourPop order before Christmas (mainly because I was after a new highlighter), but thought I’d throw in an ultra satin lip just to try it out. The formula of the ultra satin liquid lipstick totally intrigued me – it never claimed to be super matte (translation: it’s more comfortable than your average liquid lip), but also claimed to be long wearing (a bonus for me, who can never be bothered to touch up my make up). I thought this had to be a too-good-to-be-true situation, but was over the moon to discover all claims were true! The formula feels like a slightly tacky lip balm, stays on through multiple cups of coffee, and the colour glides on evenly and smoothly. Comfort + longevity + a gorgeous peachy-pink shade is a total winner for me, and at just $8 AUD I’ll definitely be picking more up very soon. This company is also cruelty-free.
This is kind of a random find, but I’m low key obsessed with this tea – I consume more of it than I probably should but it reminds me of mulled wine, and I love mulled wine. It’s warm, spicy, and has a nice fruity sweetness. It’s also caffeine-free, which makes for a nice option before bed.
Organisation is an absolutely vital part of my life, any kind of mess just doesn’t fly and drives me insane. I had my make up palettes stacked in a pile on my dresser, and it annoyed me so much that I decided I needed a cute way to store them. I checked out lots of places online, but couldn’t find anything that I really loved. I found this organiser at Kikki.K, and although it’s meant for storing files and such, I thought it would be perfect to house my palettes (my workmate said you could use it also for toast… I think that would make for a very glam brunch). This organiser is not only perfect for storing palettes, it’s also great quality and will stand the test of time. I also threw my brushes into the matching pencil holder and I think it worked out pretty well!
If you remember my first-ever post, this is the follow-up book to #Girlboss. In fact, calling it a follow-up book is probably incorrect because this book doesn’t continue from the last. Rather, Nasty Galaxy is the coffee table companion of Amoruso’s first novel. My boyfriend knew how much I adored the first book, so for Christmas he got me a signed copy of Nasty Galaxy (!!!), and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. It’s full of creative insight, stunning photography, and even tidbits from Sophia Amoruso’s weirdo brain (mad respect). The only tiny downside is that the cover is made from a felt-like material, so any kind of dirt or dog fur sticks to it super easily. If anyone knows how to clean it without ruining the cover, please let me know!
